        Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Karnataka, known for its magnificent temples, stone architecture, ancient ruins, and natural landscapes. It was once the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire and today it is one of India’s most loved heritage destinations.

Hampi lies on the banks of the Tungabhadra River and is surrounded by large boulders and ancient monuments. It’s perfect for history lovers, photographers, trekkers, and spiritual travelers.

How to Reach🔆

  • Nearest Airport: Hubli Airport (166 km) / Bengaluru Airport (350 km)
  • Nearest Railway Station: Hospet Junction (13 km)
  • By Road: KSRTC buses and private vehicles available from Bengaluru, Goa, and Hyderabad.
  • Local Transport: Auto-rickshaw, moped/bike rentals, bicycle rentals.

Once you reached Hospet, you will get multiple option to go to the Hampi like local auto, government buses and private taxis which takes reasonable fare.

Best Time to Visit🔆

October to February is perfect as the weather is comfortable for sightseeing and trekking

Avoid in Summer and rainy season because you will face extreme heat and slippery surface due to open and rockery area.

There is one Dormitory which takes 500rs per person per day and they also have rooms for friends and family with reasonable price. I must recommend this hotel  Mayura.

What to Eat🔆

Try South Indian food, banana pancakes, Israeli dishes, and Tibetan momos available near Hampi Bazaar.

In nearby Hampi bus stand there are multiple hotel which gives nice food with reasonable prices. I tried south Indian food plate which contain my fav dish now which is Sabji of banana flower.

Also try local food form street vendor which gives you best foods like lemon rice, paddu.

Budget may differ as per your spending for stay and travel and your bargaining skill with local transport. They will ask you more money to show north and south Hampi.

  • Wear comfortable shoes (Hilly area with lots of rocks so choose shoes carefully)
